Interviews & FAQs
Q: Any tips for budding Illustrators?
A: Be professional! Also don’t compare yourself to others, focus on what you want to draw and do it.
Q: Can you tell us about your process?
A: I first start with research, I learn about what I’m drawing to make sure that it makes sense and is accurate. I then do a word bubble which I come up with different words that best represent the concept I’m conveying. After I find a good selection of words, I come up with really sketchy thumbnails. I then draw my favorite thumbnails into a pencil line drawing. And finally, I scan those line drawings in and illustrate them digitally.
Q: Have you always wanted to be an artist?
A: Actually, no. When I was younger, I was very much interested in different occupations such as being an interior designer, pianist, and even at one point - a meteorologist.
Q: What things in your studio could you not live without?
A: I could not live without my laptop, paper, drawing utensils, books, and my cat.
